Via Germany: A Story World Built for Screen

A pitch presentation designed to communicate Via Germany’s world, emotional tone and cinematic potential to Disney+. Working from the story supplied by the project team, I translated its synopsis, characters and settings into a cohesive visual deck through moodboards, colour direction and cinematic references.

The Story

A Journey Shaped by Movement and Belonging

The project is built around a narrative world designed to feel emotionally grounded and cinematically expansive. Rather than functioning as a simple summary, the pitch introduces a story shaped by movement, relationships, longing, and personal transformation, giving the viewer an early sense of the film’s emotional arc.

Characters

Building the Emotional Core

Building the Emotional Core

The story is carried through character-led presentation, with each figure giving the narrative its emotional weight. Instead of treating them as plot functions, the pitch builds them as people first, helping the world feel more lived-in and believable.

Pitch Strategy

Making the Screenplay Easier to Imagine

The deck was structured to move from written synopsis to a tangible sense of the film. Character boards, location references and shifts in mood and colour helped organise the emotional arc and communicate how the story would move between India and Germany.

Mood & Colour

Shaping the Film’s Emotional Atmosphere

Colour and visual references help establish the tonal rhythm of the film. This section shows how mood shifts across locations, emotional phases, and narrative movement, giving the pitch a clearer cinematic identity and a stronger emotional texture.

The visual language of the pitch is built through references, atmosphere, travel, intimacy, and environmental contrast. This is where the project moves beyond synopsis and starts to feel like a film already beginning to exist.
